Habitat for Humanity Elects New Board Member & Officers
Habitat for Humanity of Douglas County President John Beem reports the election of a new board member: Jan Finazzo. The board also elected officers: John Beem, President; Steve Hellermann, Vice President; Chris Worley, Treasurer; Janna Lindoo, Secretary; and David Anderson, Ex Officio. Other board members include: Bettie Anderson, Joyce Hansen, Arnold Karsky, John Loken, Terry Quist, Gordon VanderHelm and Pete Wood. Joani Nielson, Founding Partner & COO of Tastefully Simple, installed the new directors and officers at their organizational meeting held on July 21, 2009.
The Board of Directors is the governing body and sets policy for the local affiliate including fundraising, building site selection, partner family selection and support, volunteer coordination, church and public relations, home construction and mortgage servicing.
“Since 1997, 23 homes have been built for sale to partner families. We are thankful for the financial and volunteer support from the community,” said Beem, Board President.
“We invite the public to attend a dedication of the Habitat home located at 102 Viking Place in Alexandria on Tuesday, July 28th at 5:00 p.m. Later this year we will dedicate a new home in Evansville,” said Lori Anderson, Executive Director. “We welcome our new board member to our team and her commitment to affordable housing."
