Based in Douglas County, Minnesota, we exist as a nonprofit, Christian housing ministry that seeks to eliminate poverty housing in the community and to make simple, decent shelter a matter of conscience and action.

Each gift helps a family in need of decent shelter. Donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law and will be acknowledged with a letter you may use for those purposes. We take seriously our responsibility to contributors, to those counting on our help to be wise stewards of funds entrusted to us.

Volunteering with Habitat for Humanity is a great way to learn new skills and give back to the community. Construction Projects

Alexandria Technical and Community College (ATCC) construction students have been busy with the construction of the Braford Family home. Interior framing has been completed and the home is ready for subcontractors during the Christmas break. The home is really beginning to take shape. Homeowner Cassandra Braford and children are on site weekly to help with clean-up and deliver treats to the students. They are excited to see the progress on their home. The students have not only learned a lot about their trade, but have learned a lot about Habitat and how we partner with families. It has been very rewarding to see these young people hard at work and to see how they have engaged with the family. Before the Christmas break, students enjoyed a chili lunch prepared by 2010 Habitat Homeowner Karen Hildebrandt and served by Homeowner Cassandra Braford.
